Air Fried Tandoori Pomfret

Ingredients:

  • 3 – 4 Large Pomfrets
  • salt – to taste
  • Turmeric Powder – 1 tsp
  • Kashmiri Red Chilli Powder – 3 tsp
  • Ginger – Garlic Paste – 2 tbsp
  • Lemon Juice – 3 tbsp
  • Hung Curd – 1/3 cup
  • Roasted Cumin Powder – 1 tsp
  • Coriander Powder – 1tsp
  • Fennel Seeds Powder – 1/2 tsp
  • Garam masala Powder – 1/2 tsp
  • Carom Seeds / Ajwain – pinch of
  • Roasted Gram Flour / Sattu – 2 tbsp
  • Oil – 1 tsp

Method:

1. Firstly, take pomfret fishes. Clean and put gashes on both sides of each fish. Pat dry and place on a plate. add 1tsp salt, turmeric powder, 1 tsp Kashmiri red chilli powder, 1 tbsp ginger-garlic powder and 1 tbsp lemon juice. Rub them well on both sides of the fishes and keep then aside to marinate for 15-20 minutes.

2. Now lets prepare 2nd marination. In a bowl add hung curd, 2 tbsp lemon juice, 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste, 2 tsp Kashmiri red chilli powder, roasted cumin powder, coriander powder, fennel seeds powder, garam masala powder, oil, salt and carom seeds. Mix them well. Then add roasted gram flour / sattu and mix well.

3. Now apply the 2nd marination over each marinated fish. Coat them very well and again keep them aside for another 15-20 minutes. Meanwhile preheat the air frier at 200°c for 5 minutes.

4. I’m using Phillips Air Fryer here to make a totally guilt free tandoori pomfret by using very less oil. You can use any air frier to enjoy guilt free licious food. And you don’t have to compromise with the taste at all!! It’s even more crispy and juicy than tandoor ones….trust me!!

5. Ok, so after 5 minutes of preheating, pull the basket out & brush little oil on the basket. Arrange marinated fish pieces in the basket. Put the basket in & cook at 180°c for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, pull out the basket, brush little oil on both the sides of the fishes, turn upside down and again cook for another 10 minutes.

6. After 10 minutes, pull out the basket & you will see a nice crispy texture on the outside but it will be very juicy inside. So, your guilt free healthy Tandoori Pomfret is ready!! Sprinkle some chat masala and lemon juice and serve them hot with any of your preferred dip / sauce and salad 🥗.
